The Resources I Use for My Home Business

Adlandpro
They allow 3 free ads.  You will need to log in and modify them often to keep your ads higher in the listings.

Free Classifieds from USfreeads
Not only do they allow free ads, but google likes them so your blog, site or flash page will have better rankings if you use them.  They work for me!  You can post really long ads and articles with picures and your links.  I think a premiun membership is only about $7 monthly and it allows unlimited ads.  Their feature ads are really reasonable at about $20 for four months.

Daily Free Software - One Giveaway Each Day

FREE OpenOffice.org  When I purchased a new computer loaded with Vista, my old Microsoft Office suite would no longer work, so I gave OpenOffice a whirl and it fills the bill.  I recommend it totally.

FREE Paint.NET - Free image & photo editing software  The same thing happened with my old copy of Photoshop, it no longer works with Vista. Paint.Net is a great substitute and has a forum where people are helpful and you can download a huge number of plugins for special effects again, for free.

RoboForm  -  Excellent program for creating login identities and passwords.  The lite (free) version allows a few free logins and identities.  It saves a lot of time typing in your information if you join very many affiliate programs.  I only use browsers to save passwords for sites where there is no financial risk and little personal information.  I never keep banking and financial passwords on my computers.

FileZilla - the free FTP solution. FileZilla is open source software distributed free of charge.  It is easy to use and I use it nearly every day to upload and download files to my server.

FastStone Capture - Last freeware version  I use this program to capture screen images.  It is useful for creating ad banners.  Often the banners are the wrong size or I only need a portion of the banner.

Pixie 3.1 - Free program that enables you to pick any color from the screen.  This is free from CNET Downloads.  I use it to match colors to a banner or other creative.  It gives the colors to you in HTML, RGB, HEX and other formats.

HTML Color Picker from Mino Studio Freeware - Although the author doesn't guarantee this to work on Vista I have been using it with no problems.  It presents a color grid so that you can select the colors you wish and they are supplied in HTML, RGB and HEX formats

BHead – version 6.0.2.2460 Freeware - This an easy to use meta tag generator.

Old Bhead Version 5.0.1- I use this for simple CSS and it is a little fussy to use with Vista, but if you play around with it a bit, it does the job. Be sure to do a virus and malware scan before you open this file.

Google AdWords_ Keyword Tool - Free tool from Google to find profitable keywords.  For best resullts hide the local search column but show Google trends and Avg. CPC. Select exact match.  This will give you an idea of competition on related keywords. search trends and CPC.

Detecting Online Commercial Intention: Audience Intelligence: adCenter Labs - I use this occasionally to determine whether a keyword has commercial value.  This useful if you are creating niche blogs to promote products or services.  You might think that an idea is promising but it has little commercial value.

Outline Fonts - 1001 Free Fonts  - have used this on occasion.

bit.ly, a simple url shortener - I have started using this service and it does tract hits to your url.  It is a free service so understand that as with any free service it could stop working at any time.  It is useful for some clssifieds, Twitter and other social networks.  Sometimes you are better off to post your links in entirety as the search engines are more likely to find them.  Adlandpro offers an ad tracking option for a few dollars a month.  That may be a better option if you have lots of ads out there.  The work to revise them all could be horrendous.

Bravenet - Get free web tools, click here If you are strapped for cash, Bravenet may be a good option for flash pages. You can get a subdomain with your free account.  The only disadvantage is there will be Bravenet ads on your web pages, but that is standard for free hosting. Various upgrades are available as you need them.  I have used Bravenet, but I now use Dreamhost and lower cost Cirtex Hosting and they have many advantages.

More Free Hosting -  Free hosting at All4Webs and it doesn't look too bad.  There are ads, but they are unobtrusive.

Free Autoresponder - offers free members five campaigns with ten emails each.  This is plenty for the beginning marketer.

Drop Shipper  - Sign up for free account and connect with hundreds of merchants.  Free account allows 25 items. Ideal to use with TripleClicks or eBay.

Find doFollow Blogs - If you have a blog or website you can help it gain authority and more traffic in the search engines by making blog comments.  Just make sure you make comments that are related to the blog content and related to your website or blog content.  This handy website will allow you to find blogs that don't have a no follow meta tag.

Answers Content - Looking for information?

Answer Bag - Answer Bag gives you current and trending hot niche topics.

Yahoo site explorer will show you how many true back
links are coming into a site.
