Read the following before you join an affiliate program, survey program or take a freelance contract:

Know who you are dealing with, find out company names, owners and locations.

Contact your Better Business Bureau.  You will be able to find out if there were complaints and if they were resolved.  Every business may have a few unhappy customers, but they should be able to resolve problems.

Contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).  The FTC enters fraud related complaints into the Consumer Sentinel, a secure site available to civil and law enforcement agencies worldwide.  www.ftc.gov

Carefully read the “Terms of Use” and “Privacy” statements before you join any work at home program.

Look for “Money Back Guarantees” and understand their terms.

Do not necessarily believe testimonial claims without verifiable evidence.

If a program claims you can make a specific amount per hour, month or within a specific amount of time,  then at least one of their participants earned those amounts.  If you are new to Internet marketing, you cannot expect to generate high income within a short period.  The earning programs we present will only give you the opportunity to generate income using their resources.  Study and diligence on your part part will generate income.

Survey companies base eligibility for surveys on the demographic requirements of the hiring companies.  Some age or income groups may attract more surveys than others.  There isn't any way to calculate in advance how many good paying surveys you will be offered.   Survey takers must check their email three or more times a day because the well paying surveys fill up quickly.  Telephone surveys, panels and product testing programs pay well so register with companies offering those options.  Many survey companies offer mostly sweepstakes entries, and few paid surveys.  Don't waste your time unless they occasionally offer a good paying survey.  In that instance, just satisfy their requirement to keep your account active.

Freelance workers should check a prospective employer's background before accepting and fulfilling a contract.  Check with the Better Business Bureau and the FTC.  Post queries on forums regarding the employer.

Avoid plans which only generate income by recruiting additional affiliates.  They could be pyramid plans, illegal in some jurisdictions, and they can collapse like a house of cards.

TIPS TO MAKE WORK EASIER AND SECURITY SUGGESTIONS:

1.  Register for free Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo email accounts just for your work at home income programs.  I was able to link my Gmail email account to Outlook Express.  I haven't tried to link Hotmail or Yahoo accounts to it.

2.  Sign up for a Paypal or similar account.

3.  Download ROBOFORM,  a great little free program that allows you to automatically fill in your name, address, email and other information  needed when registering with survey companies or affiliate programs.  The free version allows you to have 10 longins, useful for logging into sites that require user names and  passwords.  Just click on  ROBOFORM  to go to their site for a free download.  I purchased the Pro  Version because I visit many sites that require user names and passwords.

4. Survey Sites - Read every company's "Privacy Statement" and "Terms of Use" before you register.  Some companies will sell your information to third parties or ask you to download programs that track your browsing history or even store thumbnail copies of every website visited.

5.  Security - I do not keep bank passwords, pins, credit card number, bank card numbers or any other personal identity numbers saved anywhere on my computer.  If I write a letter with any of that information in it, I make a hard copy of the letter and delete the file.  The best way is to simply not save the file in the first place.  If I do online banking, I delete browsing history, cookies and run virus and spyware removal programs first.  Then, afterward delete temporary files and browsing history.  According to some experts, you should never rely on only one program to protect your computer.  Almost always I find more spyware when I run a second spyware removal program.  In addition to the security I have with Internet Explorer and a router with a firewall, I currently use the following free programs:

a) AVG a free program from Grisoft to remove viruses. It’s updated almost daily.  There is also a free version of anti-spyware available from Grisoft
b) Ad-Aware, a free program from Google to find and remove spyware
c) Spybot Search & Destroy, a free program to find and remove spyware

d) Spyware Blaster, a free program that only protects against spyware
