You should then change to larger needles and Work even until the piece measures five and a half inches. To complete the armhole cast off two stitches at beginning of the next two rows. Now continue until armhole measures three and a half inches, with fifty four stitches remaining.

In order to start shaping the neck you need to work with both sides at the same time. This should be repeated with twenty stitches. Now slip the next 14 stitches to a holder. With a second ball of yarn start working remaining 20 stitches. DEC first stitch at neck edge every row 6 times, until only fourteen stitches are there. Now work even until armholes measure four inches. To shape the Shoulders *cast off 7 stitches at armhole on edge of next row. Work one row even* 2 times.

Front
In order to get the armholes you have to do them the same as the back. The armhole decreases for armhole at both ends, the same as the back. This should be continued until the armhole measures three and a half inches with fifty four stitches still remaining. The neck should now be shaped at both sides at the same time, working twenty stitches. Now slip another fourteen to a holder. Now work remaining twenty stitches, and decrease first at neck edge every row six times until fourteen stitches are left. Make sure you work even until armhole measures five inches. The shoulder shaping and the cast off should follow the same procedure as for back.
