Child Beginner Knitting Pattern

When learning to knit making a scarf is the preferred choice. Every experienced knitter remembers their first scarf and the joy completing it provided. The design procedure is simple should you follow the instructions carefully.

This child beginner knitting pattern is written for those who have a minor understanding of the terms used in knitting. It is a good opportunity for those to finally have a go at making their first wearable garment.

What next?

Tip: A good tip to remember throughout is that for speedier cutting wrap yarn multiple times around thick cardboard that is the desired length of the finished fringe.

Firstly take a circular needle using A and cast on 60 stitches and then join. When joining please take particular care not to displace the stitches. You then have to mark whilst carrying marker up. You should work for even in Stitches completing K every round for four inches.

*Now Change to B and knit another 3 rounds. Change to A and knit for one inch then Change to B and knit 3 rounds. Change to A and knit for four inches. Replicate from * thirteen times more. Then complete by binding off all stitches.

The Fringe

T
o start the fringe cut fifty six "six" inch strands of B and twenty-four "six" inch strands of A. Put four strands of B and fold in half. Using a crochet hook you draw and center your strands. This should allow you to form a loop through double thickness cast-on. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. You should then put in "A" and fold in half.

Now using the crochet hook, draw center of strands through double thickness of cast-on edge and a quarter inch from first fringe forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. Using this method make fringe along the cast-on whilst bound-off the edge of scarf. Now work through the double thickness and alter 4 strands of B and 2 strands of "A". You should now have 7 B fringes and 6 A fringes on each side. To complete beg the pattern end with B at both ends.

Good luck on completing the Child Beginner Knitting Pattern!
