Loom Knitting Pattern for Baby Bib
This new
loom knitting pattern is ideal for beginners to intermediates. Suitable
for any newborn child, this bib is cute easy to knit in no time!
Pre-requisites:
Size: Knits to eight inches Wide and seven inches Long.
Materials:
- 1/2 Skein of Cotton Tots yarn
- Newborn hat loom in fine gauge
- Crochet hook
- Large eye needle
- Button (if desired)
Instructions:
Worked in single stitch and knitted as a flat piece. Knowledge of the
decrease stitch method required.
Cast on
thirty two pins. Knit thirty six rows. Cut yarn leaving roughly 6".
Wrap first 11 pins, KO. Decrease 1 stitch, by placing loop from pin one
on pin two. KO. Wrap pins 2 to 11. KO. Decrease 1 stitch by placing
loop from pin 2 on pin 3. KO. Wrap pins 3 to 11. KO. Decrease 1 stitch
by placing loop from pin 3 on pin 4. KO. Wrap pins 4 to 11. KO.
Continue decrease 1 stitch at one end until you have six stitches left.
Cut yarn leaving six inches. Repeat on the other side of the knitted
item. In this case, you will wrap from pin 32 to 21. Decrease 1 stitch
from pin 32 and place it on pin 31. KO. Continue doing this until you
have only 6 stitches left. Cut yarn leaving six inches.
Remove the item from the loom with the crochet hook, remembering to
knit a chain after removing one stitch from the loom. Remove one stitch
then crochet one chain, remove one stitch, crochet one chain, and
continue in this manner.
Wrap six pins on the loom. Knit 1 row. Purl 1 row. (K1, P1)* Repeat
from *. Knit a piece that is 6" long. Remove from the loom. Attach to
the bib with the large eye needle.
