Poncho Knitting Pattern
Adult Poncho Knitting Pattern
Ponchos
are this year's must have fashion accessory, now in vogue after some
time trapped in the second drawer. With this basic adult poncho
knitting pattern, you can knit your own in no time to provide a
comfortable but practical and stylish garment, suitable for knitters of
intermediate to expert skill. This pattern is known as the classic
poncho knitting pattern.
Pre-requisites
For
every four square inch you will require twenty stitches and thirty rows.
Do
one hundred and seventeen stitches for every five rows you knit.
In
the first row do an MC, and then do K1 followed by K1. Then K2 with a
tog, then K1 again, before PM, then K55 then K2 again with a tofu, then
a table before finishing with a K1.
On the second
row purl, then replicate the first row five times each.
By
the thirteenth row do CC before K1, then K3 with a tog, followed by an
YFWD, then a K for four stitches then tog K2 twice and a PSSO ending
with K1 for one hundred stitches.
Row fifteen is
just repeating what is in row thirteen.
Row
seventeen is relatively easy, as it is just K1, then K2 with a tog,
with K to the middle stitch. YFDW then K1, then just L to complete five
stitches, now do a sling for one and then K2 with a tog, then K1.
For
nineteen through to twenty four just repeat number thirteen to number
eighteen.
Now do rows twenty
five and on to thirty
six using the next CC, you should have around one hundred stitches left
as you repeat the process of thirteen to eighteen.
Do
this again until forty eight whilst waiting until you have ninety three
stitches left.
Now it is simple. Just work with
twelve rows and keep shrinking until only twenty stitches remain. Now
twist the upper part and manipulate above. You should leave the rest on
the holder the complete other sections.
Be patient
with this pattern to see the best results. If you stick at it, you will
refine your technique as well as producing a stunning garment. Good
luck with this adult poncho knitting pattern!
