Cleckheaton Poncho Knitting Pattern

This fashionable cleckheaton knitting pattern is ideal for any cosmopolitan lady. With its sleek contemporary design, this poncho knits up particularly well with larger needles. The design is often said to be everything there is to say about the upper class, and that seems to be a fair comment. In purples and brown this poncho will really get attention and respect. Many knitters also choose different colors such as black and grey.

Before starting the knitter will need to fetch size nine needles, which should be on forty nine stitches. This project takes some knitters months to finish so knitters should also get their holiday booked, and their Christmas gifts purchased.

This design is for a lady of dress size 10. Should you want to design it for someone bigger or smaller, neither is a problem. Just increase the amount of rows to accommodate someone bigger, or decrease the amount of rows to accommodate someone smaller.

The first row starts K1, Ktog, PPSO, WS K3 over four stitches and then following over twist. The pattern then starts with a P86 in the next row, and then the pattern becomes Ktog, K3 over four stitches. After a Purl on the third row the neck is shaped perfectly providing the knitter managed to grasp it ok.

Should they have done this then the next step is to shape the shoulder; Eight stitches, PPSO, WS, RS and cast; then inverse, then back and then inverse. Ensure that the stitches are loose when you fold. Now repeat the process for every procedure, where the odd row remains the same.

For finishing the knitter should cast off and pair or work round the loop. The perimeter should be smarted up and then the item is ready to be accessorized as the knitter or the wearer wishes. A few good ideas include adding a pocket to give that little bit more character, or choosing to knit artwork into the actual masterpiece itself.

This cleckheaton poncho knitting pattern is ideal for intermediate to experienced knitters looking for a satisfying challenge! If you manage to complete the knitting pattern then congratulations are due
