Quick Poncho Knitting Pattern
This
pattern is quick to knit and ideal for wear in the summer with a light
t-shirt or tank top. Best of all, its easy to knit and it's free! Enjoy!
Pre-requisites:
- This will fit most adult women and is
forty three inches by eighteen inches. Gauge
- For gauge three and a half equals one inch
- You will require thirty five inch
circular needles and a five millimeter crochet hook
Instructions:
The colors are entirely up to you, but should follow this procedure.
The first color should be in the first ten rows, then second color
should appear in the next four rows, the sixth color should appear in
the seven rows, the fourth color should appear in the next seven rows,
the third color should appear for two rows, the fifth color should
appear for eleven rows, the eight color should appear for two rows, the
ninth color should appear for two rows and then the second color should
appear for the next four rows.
The first row is K3, followed by k1, where the next stitch is K1 for
five stitches.
The second row is K1 with K1 performing five stitches.
The third row is K1, followed by P1, followed by P3 then YO, then P1
then K1 over seven stitches.
The fourth row is K1, followed by P1, then YO, continued with K5, with
P1, then K1 working eleven stitches.
The fifth row is the same as row five however over eleven stitches.
Row six starts with k1, then back to p1 then YO, with P1 and K1 going
over thirteen stitches.
The YO on rows should be purling over two stitches preferably.
Over the later six you should use the second color and work as
established for around one hundred and fifty stitches.
Maintaining the pattern you should continue over fifty five stitches
for three more rows then prepare to remove the yarn.
Finishing the knitting pattern
Now just weave in through the WS.
