Many business owners are turning their homes into launching pads for high tech ventures. You don't have to be a techi yourself: as you can partner with another or become an affiliate.  The ecommerce opportunities available through the Internet are growing exponentially. 

Affiliate Marketing – You can advertise products using PayPerClick (PPC), classified ads, your own website and receive a commissions from the product producer. 

Online Retail Stores - ­ Retail operations have moved online with a digital front-end. Everything from books and flowers to groceries and clothes is now sold from a Website. 

Ecommerce ­ - Businesses selling to other businesses (called B2B) was an early use of the Web. Supplies, equipment, parts, transportation and advertising to only name a few are only a few clicks away.

Email ­  - Ever since the advent of free email accounts, the number of people having their own email addresses has expanded with the internet. As more people establish their own homepages and blogs, identities become virtual.  A note of caution regarding spam, if you decide to market with email you should only market to double opt-in lists who have the option to opt out of your mailings at any time.

Internet cafes ­  - Web surfing and crawling for information, entertainment or personal contact grows each year. Public access to the web from Internet style cafes is available almost anywhere.  With advent of satellite internet,  internet cafe exist in the even the most remote areas. 

Etrading ­ - Middle men are being cut out as supply lines move closer to the end user. Not only can you bypass your stock broker and trade online yourself, you can also do this with airline bookings, concert tickets, and classified ads.

Auctions – The big one is  Ebay, but there are many others.  Do you have something to sell or do you want to analyze the market trends and list products for sale from dropshippers.  You can place eBay ads and you never have to touch the product.,

How could you use your talents and experiences to create an ecommerce opportunity?  What do you need to learn to take advantage of the Internet market?  A few hints.  Learn to blog, build your own websites, or publish a newsletter.  There are many free sources of training on websites and many free open source programs to help you.  Free KompoZer and Wordpress are very reliable and easy to use  website building and blog programs. FileZilla is a good free program to transfer files from your computer to your website.   CNET downloads is a good source for free or free to try programs because they are certified to be virus and malware free.

A popular alternative is to build what is called a niche market website or blog..  Obtain Adsense, Clickbank  and Amazon affiliate accounts and affiliate yourself with other suppliers related to your content.  Content is the most important.  You must have original content that is not identical to any other website.  Usually you can do research by using public domain material and rewrite it in your own words.

The possibilities are endless, but you have to be careful.  It’s illegal to spam, so use only double opt-in lists for email.  Open email accounts just for business, keep your personal email, personal.  Be a little careful who you give your personal information to.  Most affiliated companies like Adsense (owned by Google) will require personal information or you will not be paid.
